Demo Concept: Controlling 3‑Phase Power with a Contactor

Demo Video Link(Use Chrome to open the link):

This panel demonstrates how the JakinID IoT Controller safely controls high‑voltage, 3‑phase equipment (such as large motors, HVAC systems, or pumps) using a heavy‑duty contactor.

How It Works (Video Walkthrough)

A contactor acts as a high‑capacity “bridge” between the control system and the heavy equipment. It allows a low‑power signal to switch a high‑power circuit on and off without direct human interaction with the high‑voltage lines.

  1. The Trigger (Control Signal): The process begins with an input signal. In the video, this is simulated manually by pressing the red switch at the bottom of the panel. In a real‑world scenario, this signal would be sent automatically by the JakinID IoT Controller based on schedules or sensor data.(Automation Profiles)

  2. The Engagement (Magnetic Coil): Once the signal is received, the internal electromagnetic coil inside the contactor is energized. At 0:02, observe the contactor (the white and blue device on the right) physically “snap” downwards. This mechanical action pulls the heavy‑duty metal contacts together, completing the 3‑phase circuit.

  3. Power Delivery (The Load): Immediately after the contactor engages, the row of green indicator lights turns on. These lights represent the 3‑phase load (e.g., machinery) running. The system effectively handles the high in‑rush current required to start such equipment.

  4. Disconnection: When the signal is removed (toggling the switch again at 0:04), the contactor’s spring mechanism instantly separates the contacts. You can see the contactor snap back up and the green lights extinguish immediately, cutting power to the equipment safely.

Key Customer Benefit

Using a contactor ensures safety and longevity. It isolates the sensitive JakinID IoT Controller from high‑voltage surges and allows for the automated, remote management of energy‑intensive facility equipment.
